A friend of mine recently bought an Indian motorcycle frame but cant figure out what year it is. The model is an Indian Chief, but thats as much as he knows.

THE YEAR OF THE INDIAN DEPENDS ON THE YEAR I HAD A 59 INDIEAN TRIKE CERTAIN YEARS WERE FROM ROYALE ENFIELD THE BRITISH OWNED INDIAN FOR A FEW YEARS YOU CAN TRY A MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM THEY SHOULD HAVE RESOURCES ALSO THERE A FEW BOOKS AT BOOK STORES WITH THE HISTORY CERTAIN YEARS THE VIN WAS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CASING OF THE ENGINE GOOD LUCK.
If it came with the engine, the numbers are usually on the engine block.
