I was told that there where only six produced with the 440 4spd on the floor. I want to know how I can find out the production numbers and if there is a way to see how many exist still.

If it is a rare car you should spend the money to have it documented. Go to this website to order the report: http://www.gvgovier.com

I don't believe that Dodge supplies production # breakdowns per series, model or engine type for this year, only an overall total. Here is some information from the Standard Catalog of Chrysler Some 70,100 Polara passenger cars were built during model year 1968, all were V-8 powered. This figure includes 2,206 special Polara '318' units used in police and taxi operation. A total of 4,000 Polara 500s were built during the year, also all V-8s. A total of 21,100 Monacos and 3,400 Monaco 500 passenger cars were built during model year 1968, all V-8s. A total of 16,900 Polara and Monaco station wagons were also built during the year, although no breakout by series is provided for station wagons. Therefore, the total represents production of all station wagons in the full-size lineup. Additional Note: Exact production of all full-size Dodges was 138,933 units.
