my wife has recently got a 1972 ford grand torino sport fastback from her father who has pass away a few year back. her father bought the car about 5 years ago.it sat behind his barn until a few month ago.the car came with a 302 with a three speed on the column not in the floor..bench seat and power sterring and am/fm radio. i would like to know how you can find out how many grand torino was built with the three speed on the tree. i think it might be rare !! i have talked to dearborn classic and they gave me the breakdown on the data plate .the color is goldenrod yellow with ginger all vinyl the car even have the laser stripe. they could not give me the info on how many.. if there anyone that could help i would appericate it!!

The base transmission for Torinos equipped with the 302 cu. in. V-8 was a fully synchronized 3 speed with column shift. A wide ratio 4/speed with Hurst floor mounted shifter was available ONLY with the 4-BBL!!!

You can order a report from MartiAuto works. It's expensive ($200+) but it will tell you exactly what the car left the factory with, how many were produced, all the options it was equipped with and so on.
