This is an orginal equipment 37 Chevy. I have been advised that it is ok to use aviation fuel as this fuel contains lead. The engine was designed to use leaded fuel but the But aviation fuel contains a higher octane than fuel available in 37. Or is it better to use fuel commonly available which contains ethynol and add the lead substitue.

The fuel will work fine and won't go bad like other fuels or draw moisture, the higher octane won't bother you unless you are pulling very hard, or running it very high rpm,s a friend with very large collection uses it the ones he like to drive because it can stay in the tank and carb with a problem.

I would not use it. You can use know lead fuel, the valve seat are for leaded fuel. But the seat will not burn out until about 60,000 mile's, of useing it. I don't think you will ever put 60, k on it. Anyway.
