I ordered a gas tank for my 1965 Ford Galaxie and upon attempting to put it in discovered it was the wrong gas tank for my car. I was told that it may have been made late enough in the year that a tank for a 1966 was used instead. I started researching, trying to find information using the VIN and realized that everything shows 11 digits but my VIN only has 10. Can someone tell me why or does anyone have any information that can help. Beginning to think that there was some kind of a mistake made or something. Really confused right now.
