I want to put an HEI on my engine (a 350 small block 383). I replaced the firewall but I am not 100% sure the distributor will fit without "banging" the firewall back toward the interior of the car. I don't want to buy one if I have to modify the firewall to be deeper to accept it. Any thoughts on this matter would be helpful. Thanks.

We replaced the distributor with HEI on a 69 Chevlle 350 sb with no problem, I belive you have the same deminsions.
A H.E.I. Dist. will fit W/O beating on your firewall.
