There does not seem to be an oil filter on this engine. Do they have one,and if it has been removed and by-passed is that bad?

hi with your 1960 bel air the oil filter was optional just keep changing your oil on regular basis and you should be fine i have same one hope this will help
oil filters were an option on the 6 cylinder .they were mounted on the intake manifold with hoses running to them from the engine block .they are a cannister type filter.should not be a problem.keep air filter clean ,likes to suck in dirt where positioned.
