Hi, Can anyone tell me if there are any tricks to getting the cork crankshaft timing case seal to work well, this is a 1960 Pontiac, 389 ? Is there a special cement used to hold it in place, or is there a modification available to improve sealing ? I know later models use a neoprene type seal, but the cork seams to be the only type available for these early V8's. The cork seal appears to sit in a metal housing, which in turn, pushes against the harmonic balancer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated !
