Looking up the shifting lever toward the column it is an H so looking down from the drivers seat when you pull the lever back and down you are in first, straight up from first is reverse, and let the shifter get to neutral and "drop" down and up to top of other H leg you are second. Then drop it to 3rd by going straight down. Hope that helps.
