I bought a new set of tips and plastic sleeves for the sunvisors for my 69 chevelle and I cant seem to get the sleeve all the way in and I tried to spread the metal slightly and it resulted in me buying a new support bracket; for something that seems so simple I would think it would be easier to figure out; Any suggestions would be appreicated I just want them to stay up.

If the plastic sleeve fits in a hole, putting it in a freezer may shrink it a thousandth or 2. Putting the metal part in boiling water may make it a bit bigger while it is hot. It is like putting a bearing on a shaft, so the action of getting the 2 parts together should be fast as you don't want the 2 parts to get at the same temp before they are where they belong.
