Complete 1949 chevy fleetline drive train
FULL SPECS
DESCRIPTION
Selling the drive train from my 49 chevy fleetline 2 dr. Drive train consists of the engine, transmission and rear end. Engine is a full pressure oiler 235 from a 1955 chevy bel air. It comes complete from oil pan to air cleaner with the exception of the Alternator which I am keeping. Engine comes with the Short shaft water pump which you need in order to install and not move your radiator forward as well as Alan Grove Alternator brackets to mount a alternator if you have switched to 12V. A recent compression check was performed on it and revealed number 5 cylinder had low pressure. All other cylinders had an average of 85 to 100 PSI. The engine still ran strong regardless. Smokes a little on start up but that\'s because the carb has never been rebuilt. 3 Speed Transmission was rebuilt about a year ago and shifts great. Pressure plate and Clutch have little drive time on them as well. New U Joint connects it to the torque tube rear end which comes from a 52 chevy powerglide car so the gearing is 3.55 vs the standard 4.11\'s. Drivers side axle seal needs replaced on it. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. The Drive train is still currently (4-28-2017) in the car and I can start up for you. I will however be pulling it all out in the coming week or weeks. Selling because I am going with SBC, auto trans and open driveline rear end. Yes its pretty and all that but its NOT NEW so please keep that in mind. Will consider trade for a running chevy 350 engine and either TH350/700R4 combo.
