1942 Chevrolet Fleetline
In its first year of production, the 1942 Fleetline’s features and equipment included 6-passenger roominess and the soft feel of Fleetweave broadcloth upholstery. Not to mention an adjustable front seat with a full-width cushion and back. Also inside were two assist straps, coat hooks, ash tray, arm rests, foot rest, and parcel shelf in rear compartment. The body was made of steel panels and has all-steel doors and featured a Unisteel body by Fisher. The famous Turret Top is a single steel stamping as is also the floor, which extends in width to form the safety-steps as an integral part of the body structure. Not only safety, but also extraordinary durability, is achieved in the Chevrolet body, with its floor panels, and roof welded to form a unit of tremendous strength. Fleetline production totaled 76,385 and was equipped with a 216 CID 6-cylinder engine and a manual synchromesh transmission.1942 Chevrolet Fleetline Production Numbers
