This is a 1971 GMC truck that has been the intention of a restoration for some years now. With a wife and kids, this is no longer going to happen. So, I am putting it up for sale. Cash for clunkers has claimed the life of a lot of the older stuff that can be fixed and turned into a real nice muscle car or truck. this truck has a straight body not cover in dings and dents, but does have some things that need attention. This truck has the typical cancer of the rocker panels and cab corners, but I have the patch panels and a welder to do the job. The engine has less than 100 miles on it since the last rebuild. The motor is a 355 (30 over) with a set of double hump heads on it. It has 1.6/1.7 roller rockers installed, the valves are 202/160 for the valves in the heads. Truck runs real good with plenty of pep. There is two sets of tall valve covers to accommodate the roller rockers. One set is on the truck and the other set is a brand new fabricated aluminum set. There are two MSD boxes available for anyone who is interested. The cam in the truck is the sum-1105 cam from summit racing. Gives the truck that real attention grabbing rumble. There is a brand new Holley carb sitting on an aluminum intake manifold, headers installed and another pair here at home for the installation of the new exhaust later. Plenty of extra parts that were purchased to go on the truck as well, that never went on the truck.
This would be the truck from the days of old for someone who had the time to spend making it right. I will entertain serious offers only, no games.
