This 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE Vengeance Racing is the kind of serious supercar we all wish for someday. After all, you have a sinister muscle machine that's putting down 860+ horsepower at the rear wheels! So while this is a custom, sleek, and loaded, the only way people get to check it all out is when you pause at stoplights or take the premium spot at car shows.
We don't have to tell you this is pure intimidation on wheels, because it instantly does that the moment this Camaro comes into view. The Silver Ice Metallic looks like a sharp blade, and this modern factory-applied clearcoat finish has XPEL Ultimate Protection Film on front end and ceramic coat protection added. So it's a true low-mileage stunner. And Chevy gave the special ZL1 a full blackout package with the front splitter, large air-gulping grille, aerodynamic body kit, side mirrors, upgraded tinted taillights, and racecar-like rear diffuser. And we especially love the matte black hood with a carbon fiber insert, and that goes nicely with the ZL1's exclusive rear wing.
You can instantly tell this car is different inside from the moment you open the door. Those special Recaro racing seats with are designed to hug your body during hard cornering, and so you know this was built to be a true contender. Plus, they just look awesome with the ZL1 logo in the seatbacks. And the suede-like inserts and red stitching is repeated on the rear seats, door panels, and dash. It lets you senses know this machine is about deliver performance and luxury. That's why this one is also loaded with modern conveniences such as air conditioning, keyless entry, power windows, power seats, power locks, cruise control, tilt wheel, dual front airbags, side airbags, and heated & ventilated seats. Plus, the factory AM/FM/XM touchscreen infotainment system also includes a backup camera and Apple CarPlay. You have a head-up display so you don't have to look down when you're using this special performance machine to its fullest.
We've mentioned the beastly power before, but now it's time to dive into the details. The ZL1 receive the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 out of the C7 Corvette Z06. One look under the hood, and you can really see the advantage of such low mileage means, because this powerhouse still looks factory fresh. Except there's more there than just what Chevy's engineers did. There's nearly $30k in receipts from Vengeance Racing where they took this practically new exotic sports machine and turned it up to true supercar status. This motor is now enhanced and fortified with CNC ported LT4 cylinder heads, an upgraded cam featuring a 32% fuel lobe upgrade, hardened pushrods, BTR valve springs, LS7 lifter set, ATI balancer kit, C5R timing chain, and more (call for the full breakdown of this big project.) They also upgraded the supercharger to a 2.9L Whipple unit, and tuned the ECU to handle this full performance package. The mighty motor inhales deeply with a Roto-Fab ZL1 Big Gulp cold air intake, and it exhales with thundering authority through Kooks headers and B&B cat-back exhaust. The full power package is rated at 865 horsepower at the rear wheels, and we have the dyno sheet to prove it! This is serious added performance, but the ZL1 was built to handle serious race tracks. That's why you get full control with the Tremec six-speed manual transmission featuring rev-matching. This is even the LT1 handling package with DSSV dampers, adjustable camber plates, and rear stabilizer bar. Plus, with power steering, race-inspired tires on Forgeline GA1R wheels, and Brembo four-wheel disc brakes, control is always well in hand.
