This is a cool classic that's five decades in the making. The exterior looks like a C2 Sting Ray coupe, but beneath the custom bodywork is a fire-breathing 2008 Chevrolet Corvette. So, you get all the iconic design lines from the American icon, but now it's backed by an LS3 V8 engine, modern sports suspension, six-speed automatic with flappy paddles, and all the modern amenities you could want.
If you've been keeping an eye on the Corvette scene, then you already know about Karl Kustom Corvettes. These were low-batch, six-figure creations that would take a modern drivetrain and surround it with the Sting Ray body of your dreams. And because these were hand-assembled, they really took the time to get it right. So, the panels have a terrific fit that give you the crisp crease around the whole body that the C2 was famous for. Plus, this low-mileage classic still retains a terrific gloss and shine thanks to a lifetime of careful ownership. And as you look closer, you'll love the details. Two-piece mirror-like chrome bumpers, correct Corvette badging, and flip-up headlights. And this one earns its iconic stinger hood with all the power underneath (more on that in a moment), featuring a black scoop design to match thee convertible top. This beauty also retains practical features like the brake cooling ducts and large polished wheels to make sure that this retro machine is still a modern performance juggernaut. Man, what a looker.
Open the doors and you'll be immediately welcomed into the lap of automotive luxury. Professionally swapped in from a 2008 Corvette, the interior fits so well it looks like it was installed in Bowling Green. It is obvious that GM put a lot of thought into the design of an interior that is pleasantly practical while providing a full slate of creature comforts. The black with red inserts leather upholstery is in great condition, showing only very little wear acquired from the usual wear and tear while being enjoyed the last 10 years. It is still nice and soft with no rips or tears though, and you won't hesitate to hop in and go have some fun. And, of course, the two-tone color combination acquits itself very well to the exterior paint. All of the electronics and gauges work as they should, and this car has all of the power options you'd expect, including an anti-theft system, power windows and locks, a heads-up display, and a big head unit in the dash that includes a navigation system. The interior of your favorite cruiser should feel like a home away from home, and that's exactly what you have here. So it's time to fire it up and put the hammer down!
The heartbeat of this Chevrolet is a stock 6.2 liter LS3 engine. And in this case, "stock" does not mean "tame." Not even close! A fantastic combination of high technology and uncompromising performance, the ground-breaking LS3 features an aluminum block and heads and is loaded with components that are designed for optimum power and longevity. It effortlessly produces 430 HP and 428 ft. lbs of torque. That'll carry this little Vette from 0-60 in about four seconds. Well, that's some serious acceleration, don't you think? All of that horsepower is transferred to the rear end through a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission that is augmented by an uber-fun paddle shifting feature that explodes this Corvette off the line. Put the car on a lift and you'll see dozens of other features that make this custom convertible an extraordinary driving machine. Power train enhancements include a high-performance dual exhaust that provides a throaty rumble that turns heads everywhere it prowls. A racing-bred suspension delivers a superb balance of road and race track performance, and you'll be absolutely amazed at the cornering ability of this car. It's almost as if it were glued to the road. Even the braking system is state-of-the-art Wilwood at every corner, with drilled and vented rotors, and multi-piston calipers that provide ultimate stopping power under the most grueling conditions.
Complete with owner's manual, few people could afford this kind of distinction when it was offered, and you can't even get this package today. So when collectability and drivability meet so nicely, you know this custom beauty will always have desirability. Don't miss out, call today!
