Exterior
Our athletic pony car arrives in Olympic White paint and like a modern day Storm Trooper, is augmented with brief glimpses of black trim that include the grille and marker light bezels, the hood vents, and a rear valance that makes room for twin dual tips on each side. 20-inch five spoke wheels carry staggered ZR rated tires with a mid 2022 date code the fill the wheel openings perfectly and in profile, the recessed character line accompanies narrow windows, a sunroof that in wing-like when open, a shark fin antenna, and a white wing on the short decklid, and it all works together wonderfully to create a sporty car. Some minor scuffs on a front fender and chin scuffs are the only imperfections noted on this low mileage Camaro.
Interior
You can get a deeper contrast than black and white and that\'s the motif of the interior, beginning on the robust door panels with white leather inserts on black plastic framing. The bucket seats up front and 2+2 in back both wear perforated white leather inserts inside of white stitched black leather and it\'s a clean and dramatic presentation. The leather wrapped, flat bottomed steering wheel also shows white stitching and leads to a view of the dash with two analog gauges for tach and speed and a contoured center electronic read out. The infotainment system in the center stack includes Bluetooth, Navigation, MYLINK, Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and XM satellite capabilities. The shifter boot and handle stay coordinated with white stitching and the black carpet is covered by 50th anniversary embroidered mats. The headliner, overhead console, and fully finished trunk are consistent in condition, essentially like new.
Drivetrain
Under the hood we have a 6.2 liter LT1 good for 455 horsepower handled by a 8L90E 8-speed automatic transmission headed to the rear wheels with 2.77 gears and a limited slip differential. No spare room in the engine bay where a plastic cover shrouds most of the engine and accessories fill the rest, all looking very clean.
Undercarriage
The clean parade continues underneath where there\'s some evidence of driving but also a number of assembly line wax pencil marks throughout. The dual exhaust meets an x-pipe after two catalytic converters, then heads into the original massive muffler that gives way to four exhaust tips. Heat shields buffer the temps from the pipes down the center tunnel and the belly pan, framing, and suspension pieces, all very clean and undamaged. Both ends have independent suspension with MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link independent suspension in back. Four wheel power disc brakes are on board with Brembos gracing the front.
Drive-Ability
Hard to believe this one is nine years old because it feels and drives like a new car. We even detect some of that new car smell that hasn\'t completely worn off. Obviously, there\'s fantastic power underfoot and the low profile tires grip in turns like glue. Lots of bells and whistles in this modern Camaro and they all function as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
In 50 years of Camaro production, Chevrolet learned a thing or two: the modern iteration is nothing short of fantastic. No outlandish stripes or scoops, just good, clean fun with a corral full of horses for which you will only need your right foot to open their gate and let \'em loose!
