Shelby pioneered the concept of a performance truck decades ago, and Ford followed suit with the Lightning, Harley Davidson Editions, and the SVT Raptor. After huge successes with their numerous Shelby Mustang collaborations, it was only a matter of time until the two motoring legends matched up to dominate the pickup game, breaking the mold with killer productions like this 2017 Ford F-150 Shelby. Wrapped in aggressive bodywork punctuated with classic Shelby White-and-Blue livery, and powered by a Supercharged 5.0L Coyote V8 matched to a 10-speed automatic transmission, never has a 4x4 pickup been this powerful and looked this amazing. With a laundry list of upgrades, it\'s essentially a gorgeous F-150 on steroids, and with only 28,091 miles on the clock this 2-owner example still looks like a million bucks today.
\"Super-truck\" is probably a more apropos description for this beastly F-150, and anyone that\'s seen one of the beauties in person could hardly disagree. The curb appeal is through the roof: a lifted truck with sporty attributes throughout and a legendary paint scheme that absolutely screams Shelby Performance. Within the current line of Ford trucks offered by Shelby, the Shelby F-150 is more capable off-road and a bit more practical than the lowered Super Snake street/strip truck (thanks to 4WD and a suspension lift), yet not quite as radical as the Dakar-ready, trail-runner Shelby Raptor or diesel-powered F-250 Super Baja. The Shelby F-150 is the perfect medium between those other offerings, but please don\'t assume that means this truck compromises in any meaningful way at all. It\'s still every bit as powerful as the Super Snake, and can aptly handle itself out on the trails like the over-the-top Raptor/Baja. But in our estimation, nothing can match this truck\'s style. It started life as an upmarket 13th Generation F-150 4x4 (a Platinum or Lariat based on the stock Ford equipment that remains) before it was shipped off to Shelby for its full makeover and performance overhaul. Up front it got a Shelby-spec molded skid plate, a sporty front bumper filled with a honeycomb racing grill insert, a custom-painted replacement grille complete with honeycomb racing grille inserts, and a functional dual-intake Ram Air hood up top. The truck\'s profiles were punctuated with functional fender vents, painted custom fender flares, and black powdercoated stepbars, while out back a custom-painted hard tonneau cover was installed to protect the carpet-lined bed inside, the rear bumper was covered in custom cladding to match the front, and big twin exhaust pipes jut out from below. The entire truck was painted Oxford White, covered in blue Rally stripes from end-to-end along with matching blue Shelby rocker-panel graphics, and adorned with a Shelby Snake badge in the front grille, a Supercharged emblem on the hood scoop, and SHELBY block lettering throughout ensuring this muscle truck will never be mistaken for anything but the genuine article. With so few miles and only two owners since new, it\'s still in remarkable condition, with nothing more than a few imperfections up front picked up from blasting a 1,000MPH down the road. Yeah, this sucker is clean!
The interior is finished in (what else?) supple black leather, with embroidered Shelby logos in the front headrests, a Shelby Snake badge on the center console lid, Shelby logos on the floormats, and a Shelby Registry CSM Serial Number plaque on the dash for good measure. With zero wear inside, you\'d think you were still at the original showroom in North Carolina where this truck was first delivered, and the options list is so darn long we\'ll never get to it all in this limited space. Just know that anything Ford offered in 2017 is loaded in this crew-cab, and all the materials are high-end and in excellent shape. Everything works like it should, of course, and it\'s still a lot of fun to drive this big rig around listening to the soft creaking of all that genuine leather.
The 5.0L Supercharged Coyote V8 is a very special engine, Shelby engineered and pro-tuned to output a colossal 750 horsepower. It\'s a dynamic drivetrain that can dine on Lamborghini bulls, and that\'s not hyperbole, as it was specifically bred to keep up with and surpass most of the exotics out there. Shelby features include an open-air performance intake with a high-flow filter, a blower and intake manifold that were both powdercoated Ford Racing Blue, an oversized carbon fiber air intake tube, an aluminum heat exchanger, upgraded hi-po fuel injectors, and an upgraded billet throttle body. All the scoops and grille on the front and hood function to dump air into the motor that help it breath and keep it cool, and it exhales through a Borla performance exhaust that barks from the black dual tips out back. Shelby lifted the truck via a 3.5-inch BDS suspension, and it handles like a dream thanks to the state-of-the-art
