2004 Dodge RAM 1500 4x4 SLT Rumble Bee

In 2004 and 2005 Dodge produced its Ram pickup truck with a distinctive yellow and black styling reminiscent of the 1970\'s Dodge Super Bee. The Dodge Ram Rumble Bee was a limited pickup truck only built on the two door short bed platform in either 4x2 or 4x4 final drive options. The Rumble Bee featured Dodge\'s most powerful Hemi at the time, the 5.7 Liter V8.

Exterior
This Ram 1500 Rumble Bee example configuration was covered in a Solar Yellow paint. The color flows over the entire truck including the bumpers, flares, and the Mopar custom rocker treatment. True to form, a large yellow grille, side flanking undulating bottom design headlights and hood scoop make the truck look more big rig than typical truck and it has a very high stance. Well minded gaps, steel panels and a rounded rocker frame the bottom of this short bedded truck. For the cab we see tinted glass and black accenting side view mirrors. At night the truck has LED undercarriage lights for some cool visual bling when the sun sets. The short bed has a black vinyl tonneau covering under which the bed has been completely carpeted with outdoor gray carpeting. On the aft portion of the bed sides is a black vertical stripe with a harken back to the super bee but a more modern version of the side piped bee graphic within its confines. A black topped and yellow bumper frames the tailgate on the bottom, and some wrap-around tail lights are on either edge. 20-inch wheels are accenting each corner.

Interior
A swing of the doors reveals a black plastic molded complex panel and it has some yellow accenting. Storage bins abound and some more toggles are within this complex field. Inside you can land upon dual high backed gray oval broadcloth pattern buckets in broadcloth. There is a large center console/armrest and it can be flipped up to make room for a third passenger. In front, more molded black plastic forms the dash which has white faced instruments, and a yellow central accenting panel. This panel houses the AM/FM/CD radio and the climate control knobs. The factory dash presents as very clean and like new. Also very clean is the black carpeting which has some Rumble Bee Logo black floor mats. A fuzzy broadcloth gray headliner is installed tightly above.

Drivetrain
Under the hood is all abuzz with the clean factory 5.7 Liter Hemi V8. This mill puts out 345 horses and has EFI. A 5-speed automatic transmission is on back and both axles for the 4x4 are 3.92 anti spin axles. The exhaust is stock but the mufflers are Flowmasters.

Undercarriage
Black rust free structural steel abounds underneath with some light factory overspray of yellow on the inner fenders and floor pans. A little road dirt can be thrown in on that too! Front suspension has independent torsion bars and rear is leaf springs. Power disc brakes are on all 4 corners.

Drive-Ability
I climbed in and turned the key to take this truck the flight, and it did in style and with plenty of power. Great acceleration, good handling and nary a squeak as I carved curves with its Hemi and power steering. A great driver with all working functions.

Only 2 years for this truck\'s production but it has left me with a nice taste of honey on its exterior finish and quality and cleanliness for the interior. A nice example and a yellow flower to be attracted to and take a bit of power to go back to my hive. BZZZZZZ
