1998 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS LS STK #: 1326 The 1992 to 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis marked the close of the full-size body-on-frame American sedan era. With evolutionary changes throughout this twenty year period, the Panther platform Grand Marquis offered extraordinary ride comfort and powerful 4.6 liter V-8 engines. At 212-inches in length, it also provided a spacious and luxurious experience for all occupants. This low-mileage 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis features a sought-after combination of options, including the high-output 215-horsepower Handling Package, the convenience laden Premium Package, and the technologically advanced Ultimate Package which features anti-lock brakes, traction control and a digital dashboard. This is a one-owner car with less than 55,700 original miles on the odometer and has been well preserved by the dry climate of the Southwest U.S. EXTERIOR Performance White paint is all original and retains a high gloss. All glass, exterior lighting, and weather seals are in good condition. All chrome and brightwork is glossy and in good condition. Chrome fender lip trim pieces have been fitted to the car. INTERIOR The Deep Slate Blue leather interior is complete and original. The drivers seat exhibits slight but normal wear on the outboard bolsters. The interior trim, carpet, and headliner are in good condition. The air conditioning, heat, factory audio system, gauges, power windows, and power door locks are all operating as designed. This well optioned LS model includes, auto-dimming mirror, and a Homelink universal garage remote. POWERTRAIN As evidenced by the dual exhaust, this Grand Marquis features the sought after Handling Package, which includes a more powerful 215-horsepower version of the alloy 4.6-liter V-8 engine as well as a 3.27:1 axle ratio. The Ford 4.6-liter, overhead-cam Modular V-8 has a proven record for durability, smoothness, and low-end torque. The longevity of this engine has been proven in commercial, fleet, law enforcement, and truck applications. The engine is original and has not been rebuilt. The engine starts and runs smoothly, with no unusual noises, smoke, or leaks. The Ford 4R70W four-speed automatic transmission is stated to shift smoothly. CHASSIS The full-perimeter steel frame features a SLA independent front suspension, and an advanced coil-sprung Watts-linkage live rear axle setup. NO RUST! The power steering is working properly and little to no play is felt while driving. The bushings and shocks are in good condition and the four-wheel disc brakes have over 50 percent pad life remaining. The aluminum alloy wheels are in good condition, with slight but normal wear. DOCUMENTATION A clean Carfax report is available upon request and a recently completed California smog inspection certificate will be issued upon the sale of the vehicle. Offering exceptional isolation and comfort with a powerful V-8 engine, this fully optioned 1998 Grand Marquis LS offers a distinctly American luxury experience. Among the last of the full-frame grand American sedans, this well-preserved, low-mileage example offers a unique opportunity enjoy all the comfort afforded by a traditional American body-on-frame car with fully modern amenities for many years and miles to come. ***If you are viewing this on Facebook Marketplace, be sure go to our website to view all photos.
