2012 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Coupe

For consignment, a Grabber Blue GT500 looking as fast and impressive as the \'69 Shelby or the \'70 Boss, only with all the comforts and safety of the modern age. It\'s been well maintained, tuned for more performance and has some mild upgrades. It sports a title verified 72,231 actual miles and barely looks it. All the while putting out 600-650 consignor stated horsepower while retaining its factory stock looks. This Grabber Blue better have some grabber handles!

Exterior
Black and Blue is often used to describe bruises and this bruiser is a racy mix of Grabber Blue and black accents including the GT500 stripes running the length of the car in flat ebony ribbons. The black grille, splitter, hood vent, side stripe, wheels, and rear valance create an impressive presence, it\'s one of those cars you see in traffic and know immediately it\'s something special. The iconic cobra on the side and the legendary name across the back confirm your suspicions. For 2012 the GT500 received specific parts to differentiate from other Mustangs including the front bumper, hood, grille, wheels and spoiler. The quarter window louvers are body colored as are the sport mirrors with black bottoms. There are no bruises or blemishes on the paint of this car, it\'s quite clear it\'s been pampered. We notice some scrapes on the front splitter as well as some rock chips and curb rash on the wheels, but the rear splitter, spoiler, chrome exhaust tips and Shelby faux gas cap are typically what adversaries see and they\'re all in beautiful condition.

Interior
Inside, the monochromatic design is dominated by familiar Charcoal beginning with plastic molded door panels with a stitched insert, speaker, defrost vent, storage, pull handle and door actuator. The leather bucket seats repeat the stitched insert pattern horizontally and have suede panels for extra grip and generous side bolstering. After all modern Shelbys can do more than just go in a straight line! The driver\'s seat shows minor wear via leather wrinkles but no tears or wear through is noted. The back seats are two connected bucket seats in excellent condition. The steering wheel is a thick ergonomic delight, sculpted to fit the hands in different places and offering a splash of color with red cross stitching. The blue back lit gauges are a no nonsense collection in a simple to read cluster. The center stack contains AM/FM/CD radio and a touch screen with navigation. The A/C controls are arranged uniformly in a rectangle cluster. A beefy Barton shifter is floor mounted in the center console and topped with a ball handle, dressed in a brushed leather shift boot. The low pile black carpet and charcoal headliner are in excellent condition.

Drivetrain
The heart of this SVT beast is the 5.4 liter DOHC supercharged V8. Inside the bay, it\'s an impressive piece of machinery that shows only minimal evidence of usage and is generally very clean. The signed hand built plate is fantastic. An AirRaid cold air intake is present, and the engine received an SCT tune as well as having the supercharger respun according to our consignor. The gears are rowed through a Tremec TR6060 6-speed manual transmission with a McLeod stage II clutch received by an 8.8\" Ford rear and 3.55 TracLoc gears. A one piece aluminum driveshaft is on to harness the big modular power and send it to the rear tires. Power disc brakes are requisite and and as per our consignor, upgraded Brembos are found up front. Brake lines are now stainless steel.

Undercarriage
The underside of the car is in very good condition with the most minor spots of surface rust and evidence of use. The front part of the frame scraped the ground at some point, but the marks are superficial. The dual exhaust flows from a pair of catalytic converters to stainless steel mufflers and then exist via chrome tips. The consignor states that the suspension is upgraded; an independent coil spring arrangement is found in the front while 3 link with coil springs and a panhard bar are out back. 265/40ZR20 tires are mounted in the front while 285/35ZR20\'s are in the back all produced in the second half of 2022.

Drive-Ability
Sitting in the seat of Shelby GT500\'s is always serious business, embodied by the supportive seats, grippy steering wheel, and fluid clutch. And of course, the roar of the exhaust. We grab the reins and trot this pony out of the stable careful to not allow its full thoroughbred desires to be unleashed on our tame test loop. We rowed through the gears and as expected, the acceleration is ungodly and it\'s important to keep the hooves planted. Everything worked as it should and there are not many cars that evoke this feeling of power while remaining completely streetable at low speeds. Daily driver? Sure. Weekend E-ticket ride? Even better.
