DESCRIPTION
This 2004 Chevrolet SSR became a classic on day one because no other vehicle took vintage appeal, modern sleekness, and wrapped it in a package that included a hardtop convertible. So when you can get a fuel-injected V8 machine that\'s loaded and came with a full factory blackout, it all makes for an irresistible modern classic.
The curves of the SSR are instantly recognizable. Chevrolet\'s Advance Design pickup has grown into an icon of the post-war American boom, and it has even shifted into a favorite for building the best street machines. So Chevrolet celebrated that lineage with the SSR. It\'s a modern interpretation where the flowing fenders were given some added sleekness. Even the classic grille design looks like it was given 200 MPH wind-swept makeover. This retains a touch of the classic truck style with details like the full step rails between the fenders. But the hardtop\'s rounded silhouette, large dual exhaust tips, and form-fitting tonneau cover are all about a modern sleek and speedy machine. And the black paint looks like the factory application and retains a nice sleekness, especially for an actual miles example like this. There are also some cool details for individual flair, like the red badging/lettering up front and a spoiler on the rear. And since this is a unique sports car Chevy pickup, it only makes it cooler when it\'s wearing C8 Corvette wheels.
With the flip of a few switches, the glass powers down and the roof tucks away without a trace. You\'re now open to the world with an outstanding roadster look, and we particularly like this one, because it also never loses that blackout style. It\'s a full black interior that has glossy black inserts for the right accenting. There\'s even a hint of silver to set the full package off nicely. So the appearance is just like your favorite muscle cars today. More than just the right classic vibes, you\'ll love this because it\'s a fully loaded modern machine. That means dual bucket seats that are finished in leather and independently power adjust to the ideal position. You also have power locks, power mirrors, cruise control, keyless entry, dual airbags, side airbags, and an AM/FM/CD stereo system with premium Bose speakers. Plus, heated seats and the cold-blowing air-conditioning mean you can enjoy top-down motoring no matter if it\'s a crisp fall evening or noon in the summer. It all gives you the impression this one was made for driving. So this interior is not kept like a museum piece, but this has a solid price for an SSR, so you could certainly restore any details and still feel the value. And while the bed is really just a large carpeted trunk, we love the wood inserts that give this SSR the right old-school feel.
Under the hood is a fuel-injected 5.3-liter V8. This LS-based motor is related to the GM\'s truck line, but it also has some lightweight performance characteristics, which seems like the perfect blend for this pickup/roadster. Another reason you can tell this SSR was made to be enjoyed is how this powerhouse runs. It fires up nicely, drives well, and the four-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly all the way into overdrive. Power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, a car-like suspension, and modern performance tires make this a great all-around driver.
Complete with the owner\'s manual, this is a great instant classic. So if you want power, luxury, rarity, and driving fun, you need to call today!
