2000 Ford F150 SVT Lightning

Little known, and not often seen, the Ford Lightning from 2000 was the precursor to the power truck craze of the early to mid 2000\'s. This truck for consignment sports 53,570 actual miles, has its factory supercharged mill, has been treated to some recent maintenance, and is one of 1,596 Lightnings built in Black for the model year. A few modifications to improve on performance but with the stock parts included and it\'s all buttoned up for some fast hauling...of ass!

Exterior
Leading the way for this coke bottle sided, aero clad, bathed in menacing Black truck is a clean chrome honeycomb grille with the well-known Ford blue oval. A wide curvaceous hood and the large fog light inserted lower bumper with yet another grille inserted within as seen up front as well. The sides are showing well minded gaps and the rockers have extended panels to help with more aero as well as good looks. The bumped out rear quarters leave a small accommodation for a \"step side\" cove in front of the fender. Also, the rear quarters seamlessly melt into the rear bumper and gate setup which is all body matching Black as well. Covering the unlined and lightly used bed on the inside is a like new black vinyl cover. All this curvaceous truck shaped steel is bathed in the consignor stated factory applied Black and is looking just fab. 18-inch natural finish SVT wheels are wrapped in Hankook 295/45R18 like new rubber all around. A storm is brewing on the test track at Classic Auto Mall!

Interior
Clamoring to get to the interior before the storm, we open the doors with a \"flash\" and see plenty of light gray molded vinyl which forms the door panels. A seamless speaker, storage bins in the bottom, and some panels frame a smaller charcoal gray molded vinyl insert with some black panels housing the door locks, window toggles, and the mirror adjuster. All sleek and nicely seamless in its design. The seats are power adjustable for the driver and are rounded over very sporty high back buckets. These are covered in gray suede, and sport black leather insert panels which are broken up by the gray. Form and figure are key to these great lookers within the cab. A fold down center console is between the buckets and provides a large storage compartment or can be left folded up to make room for a 3rd. The dash in black houses white faced gauges and in the center are some temp control knobs and an aftermarket JVC AM/FM/CD stereo with the original head unit being included with your purchase. I hear the thunder of a V8 in the distance!

Drivetrain
5.4 Liters of SOHC supercharged V8 are shoehorned into the engine bay. This mill can put out 380hp and is fed by EFI with the help of a Volant cold air intake. On the back is a 4R100 4-speed automatic and the rear axle is a limited slip 3.73 version with a new pinion seal. Everything under the hood is uber clean and looks just perfect. Get ready to \"pour\" it on.

Undercarriage
Wonderfully preserved all shiny black framing and black floor pans as well as other structural parts showing only a sprinkling of surface rust. Independent front suspension with coil springs and new ball joints is on, and in back leaf springs aided by Bilstein shocks and struts all around. A stainless steel cat back exhaust is on for the exhale all looking great and clean while exiting through the passenger side ground-effects mid bed. It was a real soaker but now the sun is coming out....

Drive-Ability
I entered this Lightning now knowing exactly what to expect as this is my third jaunt into this model of truck. It fired right up with a thunderous roar, and it was off to the test track. Here it had neck snapping acceleration, endless power from the supercharger, and great handling. All functions were working, and the seats were wonderfully comfy. Gotta luv leather and suede!

A rarely seen Ford Lightning pickup all in great condition with some slight upgrades with the original parts included, factory paint which is miles deep, and enough curves to make Marilyn Monroe jealous. Sporty fairings all around and a covered bed I feel a road trip coming on!
