Corvettes For Vets

Rutherford County Corvettes, based in Rutherfordton NC, are a Corvette club of 190+ people from all over Western NC and Upstate SC, we host an all Corvette event in Forest City NC every spring called Corvettes For Vets. This Corvette event is all military themed. We invite all the local veteran groups as well as local current military groups such as the National Guard to set up booths to let the community know what they do. 100% of our proceeds from the car show go to military aid organizations, last year and this year our charity is Operation Homefront Carolinas. This will be our second year and it will be held on May 10, 2014. Last year we had over 90 Corvettes and hundreds of spectators in the pouring rain. This years event promises to be even bigger than last years. Not only is this a Corvette event, is is a local community festival that is all Corvette based, last year we had 70 vendors attend the event and set up their booths to showcase their businesses and sell their goods, this alone drew hundreds of people to our event. The whole weekend is everything Corvette! We have teamed up with the Blood Connection and they are going to bring us 2 blood donation busses to take donations. The blood drive is being done in Memory of FSGT Allen Young, Amanda Young and his family were very excited and grateful that we chose to do this in his memory. At the end of the show, the local police dept will escort the Corvettes thru town in a parade for all to enjoy. This is a major event for our town and we are expecting this to grow to a major Corvette event for the Southeast.
