The show’s namesake, Dale Wilson, was a true pillar in the Kasson and Barbour County Communities. He worked for the Kines Body Shop in Philippi, WV for thirty plus years, then worked for the West Virginia State Department of Highways, and finished his career working at Builder’s Center. He volunteered every year at the annual Blue and Gray Car Show, where he enjoyed talking shop with other car guys. The other thing Dale loved to do was help his kids, grandchild, and other youths throughout the area in everything they did. He loved nothing more than seeing kids having fun while they served God. More than once, he would be spotted in the church kitchen sneaking candy or popsicles to kids after the service. Anytime the church needed something for the youth, Dale gladly volunteered his time and energy to build or create it.

On October 12, 2011, Dale Wilson passed from this life into eternity. The family never realized the impact that his life had on those he touched until his passing. In honor of Dale’s life of servitude, and his passion for cars and kids, the family decided to begin this car show. It combines the things that Dale loved in his life: kids, family, and cars. This car show is about continuing his legacy and helping the kids of the Kasson community, and specifically the youth of New Beginnings church. Each year, the New Beginnings Church Youth Group travels to Cincinnati, Ohio, for a weekend concert festival known as Spirit Song. The participants in this festival describe it as “a life changing event,” “a revival in the Spirit,” and “a fun time of fellowship.” The church also gives the youth an opportunity to participate in a Bible Camp where younger campers learn valuable lessons from the Bible, while older campers go out into the community to complete service projects for the less fortunate. In addition to these activities, the youth of the church take group trips to Christian concerts, have weekly Bible study gatherings, help with Church give-a-ways for the less fortunate, and do other various activities throughout the year. One of the newest activities is our participation in Operation Christmas Child, a service that sends shoeboxes with goodies to children overseas in the name of Jesus Christ.
