This year's event is a fundraiser for Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics, on behalf of Nathan Gillespie - https://cure-angelman-now.everydayhero.com/us/team-nathan. All $10 entry fees and 50/50 raffle proceeds will benefit the charity! Nathan Gillespie is the son of VHPD Investigator Andrew Gillespie and wife Kaline. Nathan was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome (AS) in 2014 at the age of 28 months. Angelman Syndrome (AS) is a rare neurogenetic disorder affecting approximately 1 in 15,000 live births. Individuals with AS typically have balance issues, motor impairment, and debilitating seizures. Some patients never walk and most do not speak. Nathan is a happy, loving, and determined little boy, even through seizures, endless doctor & therapy appointments. He works hard every day to keep up with his two siblings!
