On Labor Day 2018, a day when we all celebrate our hard-working men and women, 34-year-old Covington Police Officer, Matt Cooper was on duty. It started off as a routine day. Before leaving for work, he, his wife, and children, sat around the breakfast table laughing and joking. With an “I love you”, kisses and hugs all around from Dad. Officer Cooper left for work.
That day changed quickly for all of us when Officer Cooper was shot in the line of duty. Matt did survive and after 9 months of intense rehab, Matt is able to walk and talk, and as you can imagine it’s taken quite a toll on his family both emotionally and financially.
This year’s car show is to honor Officer Matt Coopers heroism, bravery and sacrifice in service to our community. All proceeds from the Car Show will go to Matt and his family.
The Covington Car Show is a high-quality event that continues to increase in popularity year after year. Over a thousand spectators attended last year’s event, which featured 150 antique cars, and this year’s event is shaping up to be another spectacular community event. It’s an excellent opportunity to present your company and products to our Newton County community.
