This year’s Concours for the Cure will again be held at Southern Hills Country Club in Snug Harbor on Sunday, September 27, from 4 – 7 p.m. If you attend only one event this year it needs to be the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) Concours for the Cure! This is a one-of-a-kind event for Tulsa, and the only Concours in the world benefiting people with diabetes.

With its spectacular views and elegant surroundings Southern Hills is the perfect setting for you to relax and stroll through Snug Harbor while enjoying soft string quartet music in the background. You can sip champagne while you enjoy a private viewing of some very prestigious classic, antique, and exotic cars, each one with its own fascinating history. The evening will be filled with a live auction and an entertaining and fun program, and as always, dress is “Pebble Beach Casual”.

All proceeds from this event support diabetes education and community programs and provide funds for research projects within the State of Oklahoma totaling over $8.3 million to find a cure for diabetes. Each year, the American Diabetes Association sends more money into Oklahoma than we raise. Every 17 seconds someone is diagnosed with diabetes. If the current trend continues, 1 out of every 3 children born in the year 2000 will develop diabetes by the year 2050. Based on estimates the cost of diabetes in Oklahoma alone is over $2 billion each year.

Some of the devastating complications of diabetes include heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, blindness, nerve damage and severe infections leading to foot and leg amputations. Nearly 26 million people in the U.S. have diabetes, including 15% of our Oklahoma population. We need your help to change these numbers.
