Stray Angels Car Club

The Stray Angels Car Club was an idea of several guys that ran around together in September of 1958. Flyers were made, and the idea of a club was born. One could have a car, truck, bike or nothing at all. You didn't need a car; just the interest would do. If you had a car, it could be stock, custom, or anything in between. The stepdad of one of the guys was the Treasurer/Secretary for the Moose lodge and he was able to get the lodge to sponsor the club. The name came from one of the guys mom who said "We were all angels. We just strayed at times," and so became the Stray Angels. The guys in the club began helping with charity events and with a program taking the voters to the poles. The Stray Angels continue the traditions of helping the community today. They are involved with Special Olympics Program, Muscular Dystrophy Association Events, Heart Association, Rotary, and Lions events and programs. Even today there are members without a vehicle, and members with stock, contemporary, custom vehicles, and street rods. The key to being a member of the Stray Angels is having an interest in the car hobby and an interest in the community.
