In 1959, 13 friends began building a gasser from a 1953 Studebaker. They stored the car in one of the members barn in 1971. In 2011 they pulled the car out. After a good cleaning and some work, she was ready for the track again. We currently have about 65 members. The Coronado Car Club is a social club dedicated to sharing its passion for the sport and hobby of owning vehicles of all makes, models, and years. We encourage family participation in such sport and hobby; we strive to educate and promote safety about all vehicles; we support through scholarships the continuing education in the fields of automotive repairs and restorations; and we support our community by raising monies for local charities as determined by the membership.
