Space City Cruisers Car Club

SPACE CITY CRUISERS IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE LEAGUE CITY EVENINGS LIONS CLUB LEAGUE CITY, TEXAS The Space City Cruisers Car Club was organized in 1995 by five (5) Businessmen with an interest in cars and the idea to support the young people in the Clear Lake Community. The Space City Cruisers operate as a business by the businessmen thus giving the club member the freedom to just have fun with their club. Two (2) car shows a year benefit the Vicki Harvey Gibson Memorial Scholarship Fund, and the Texas Lions Camp. The family-oriented club enjoys cruises, picnics, participating in car shows, and friendly inter-club competitions. The Space City Cruisers appreciate all who have participated in their car shows to network, socialize, kick tires, tell stories and enjoy their refreshments. In the Cruisers second year of participation at the Houston AutoRama, Space City Cruisers hard work, many hours of planning, work parties, a little fun, dirty work, pasting, painting, more dirty work and just a little more fun were well rewarded for our efforts by taking home the plum from this show; First Place for club display. This was just a precursor of things to come. Since that time we have been in the top 8 first places, pretty darn impressive. The Club works hard, plays ever harder and gets more enjoyment out of life seeing good things happen. But for all their efforts, just to see the faces of young people light up at Christmas time or when they receive Scholarships for education, all the fun and games become pale in contrast. In 2010, the Space City Cruisers celebrated their 15th anniversary. They have received recognition for their charitable endeavors. The Vicky Harvey Gibson Memorial Scholarship Fund has provided nearly eighty-five (85) college scholarships to Clear Lake High School area students. The Cruisers take part in community activities with the Local Chamber of Commerce's, support the Texas Lions Camp and numerous youth programs throughout the Clear Lake area. The success of a car club or any other organization ultimately lies within the club itself, but the Space Cruisers are successful because of the wonderful support within our community.
