Route 66 Car Club of Flagstaff

The Route 66 Car Club evolved from one of the first car clubs active in the area. This club had as its primary focus the Chevrolet Corvair marque and older classic cars. As the club’s interest shifted to include more variety, the Route 66 Car Club was established in 1983. In 1985, the Club was incorporated as a community-oriented non-profit Arizona Corporation focused on providing services and good memories for its members and the community of Flagstaff through active participation and fund raising activities. The current club welcomes all types of vehicles. Our “inventory” now includes older classics, street rods, restorations, racing cars, trucks, motorcycles and even tractors—something for everybody. Many of our members have a particular affinity for the “Mother Road”, having grown up on or near the old link connecting Chicago and Santa Monica, and at least one of our current members, was a member of the original club. We are currently comprised of an eclectic group of friends who enjoy meeting new people with a common interest in automobiles, and the fellowship and camaraderie of our members. Our primary goal is to have fun. We do this by participating in various social events in and around Flagstaff and northern Arizona, “hanging out” with fellow members, organizing and going on cruises and rallyes, supporting our community by actively participating in local events, taking part in and contributing to charitable events and causes—all while promoting an interest in automobiles. Additionally, we host an annual car show in conjunction with the Flagstaff Downtown Business Alliance’s Route 66 Days Celebration every September.
