Prospectors Car Club

The Prospectors Car Club was started in Quesnel in 1997 to promote interest in classic and modified cars, trucks and motorcycles. From a charter membership of six (6), the club has grown to about 70 members today. Vehicle ownership is not a prerequisite for membership; you only need a love for cars to be welcome. Quesnel is a community of some 25,000 people, located in Northern British Columbia in the historic Cariboo region. Quesnel is referred to as the Gold Pan City, a reference to the Gold Rush days of the 1860s when Quesnel was the gateway to the Cariboo Goldfields of Wells, Barkerville, Likely and Quesnelle Forks. Quesnel is 450 miles north of Vancouver, right on Highway 97 North. Each year the Prospectors Car Club hosts the Goldpan Steak-out on the 2nd last weekend in August. Friday evening from 5pm to 9pm there is registration, complete with free hot dogs and beverages at the Kersley Community Hall, 15k south of Quesnel.
