ColoRODans

The ColoRODans have been a non-profit corporation dedicated to "FUN WITH CARS" since it's inception in March of 1968. Are you interested in: Having fun with cars? Meeting people with a common interest? Participating in monthly family oriented activities? Getting involved in fulfilling projects? If you answered "YES"... the ColoRODans of Longmont could be the solution you are looking for. The members come from varied backgrounds and professions... but they all enjoy the automobile and the many related activities. To Become A Member A potential member can attend a meeting and then must have a sponsor from the existing membership. After three consecutive meetings the members will vote on the acceptance of the interested party. Rod Festival - The ColoRODans annually sponsor and host the Rod Festival. The Rod Festival is not only a major event in the Rocky Mountain area, but is also recognized as one of the premier events in street rodding. Monthly Functions - The club members and families get together once a month to participate in an outing. The functions have consisted of going out to dinner or weekend long outings. We have toured Coors, Budweiser, the state capitol, Coors Field, car and automotive related businesses and manufactures. Community Involvement - The ColoRODans have and will continue to support the citizens of Longmont because we all share many of the same ideals and goals. The club has participated in various parades, grand openings and charity events. Like many car clubs we have become more active in the community over the years. In the early years, we were instrumental in the construction and placement of benches at the mini-bus stops. We have also worked with local Scout groups and held activities for charities. We have assisted Senior Meals on Wheels, Mountain States Children's Home, Tiny Tim Center, the VICA program at CDC and the OUR center, just to mention a few. The club has also donated time ad materials to build elementary playground equipment, food and clothing to needy families at Thanksgiving and Drivers Education films to the local high schools. If this sounds like something you may be interested in, please feel free to attend the next meeting or contact a member for more details.
