DESCRIPTION

1927 Chevrolet Texaco Tanker Truck and chassis converted to tanker operationFully Restored example171 CID OHV four-cylinder engineThree-speed manual transmission and 3.82 gearingTexaco livery with 95-gallon Brown-certified tank from Brown Sheet Iron and Steel, #1720124-inch wheelbaseWood-spoke artillery wheels, wood-rim steering wheel and external sun visor As Ford and other manufacturers illustrated, they built more than just passenger cars during the Roaring 20s. This Capitol AA series truck was converted for use as a fuel tanker and wears a Texaco livery. Park this in front of your business and watch the people flock in. This restored truck has been dressed in a light green as it gets ready to move into its second century of life. The paint and trim are in overall very good order, the bodywork is straight and solid, the engine bay is extremely tidy and the truck has no bumpers. There is a small wooden space for tools or other cargo between the 95-gallon tank and the cab. Note the driver-side windshield wiper, external sun visor and the dual taillights. The 95-gallon fuel tank is Brown-certified from Brown Sheet Iron and Steel (Not for commercial use) This truck rolls on Michelin tires, size 6.50-20, at every corner. These tires are mounted on wooden artillery wheels. The wheels and tires are all in very good shape. The truck has two-wheel drums brakes, mounted in the rear. Under the hood is Chevrolet's 171 CID OHV four-cylinder engine, a company mainstay by the late 1920s. It was launched in 1913 and featured splash lubrication. This model year would be the next-to-last one for motor. It is connected here to a three-speed manual transmission with a 3.82:1 rear end. Inside, the black cloth bench seat is in excellent shape while there are mats on the floor, not carpeting. A gorgeous wooden headliner is above the driver and a four-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim. The body-colored metal instrument panel has center-mounted gauges and the inner door liners are made of wood and look good. A floor-mounted shifter completes the interior. Competing half-ton trucks in 1927 included Ford, Dodge, GMC, International, Plymouth and many more in the pre-World War II market. If you collect trucks of all vintage, stripes and uses, you should stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars to check this one out in person. VIN: 346709 This truck is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 83,847 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
