Pop off the T-tops, and inside you\'ll find a nicely redone tan vinyl interior. A center console separates a pair of plush yet supportive bucket seats, while a power-assisted three-spoke steering wheel sits just ahead of a dual pod analog gauge cluster featuring an 85 mph speedometer and a 7,000 rpm tachometer. A five-pod auxiliary gauge cluster sits high atop the center stack, while power locks, windows, seats, and mirrors provide all the amenities anyone could want in the early 1982s. An upgraded AM/FM/AUX Sony head unit offers far more entertainment options than its predecessor. The dreaded vacuum operated headlights have been upgraded to electric powered motors.
Under the hood, we find a period-correct 350-cubic-inch small-block V-8. The 1983 Corvette differs from its predecessors here with its CrossFire fuel injection system. It was far more efficient than the system it replaced and was even carried over to the C4 Corvette. Power from that motor then funnels through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission before heading out to the rear end, which transfers those ponies to the pavement via a set of 15-inch wheels shod in BFGoodrich Radia T/A tires.
