DESCRIPTION
With its big V8, cool factory color combo, and absolutely iconic tailfins, it's hard not to get excited about this 1960 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible.
For many, 1960 is the perfect year. The iconic tailfins were toned down from their peak in '59 where the sleeker style made these classics appear a whole lot sportier. Plus, you still had the jewel-like grille, fender skirts, whitewalls, and ornate rear bumper that are all part of the legend. And it's with so many memorable elements all on one car, it's great to have this convertible looking so complete - right down to details like the factory-style wheel covers. The factory correct Olympic White is the right kind of color you want on a white-glove Caddy, and the upgrade to a white convertible top pairs quite nicely.
The distinct red leather interior shows all the right signs of being original. After 60 years, it's not perfect, but since it's only original once, it's nice to have a choice to keep it survivor style or an upgrade. Plus, it's exceptional to find an example so complete with all its sought-after bright trim still in place. In fact, it looks like everything you want is still here, including display items like the AM radio and nifty Autronic Eye. A true Cadillac means plenty of room for family and friends, but of course, you never need anyone else to enjoy this cruiser. The driver has a fold-down armrest for individual comfort. And with power windows and a power convertible top, you don't even have to leave the driver's seat to enjoy an open air experience.
Cadillac's 390 cubic-inch motor fills this engine bay properly with big V8 power. This appears just as honest and original as other parts of the car. But while you'll enjoy details like the blue block with Cadillac specific valve covers, don't forget to spot nice more recent investment in places like the radiator hoses and an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. It's a strong-running powerhouse, and that makes this Caddy a nice cruiser. Plus, you have the right easy driving features, like power steering, a Hydramatic automatic transmission, and power brakes.
Those bullet-like ends in the grille, razor-sharp tailfins, and a length longer than a minivan - this is style for style sake. This is an iconic drop-top that's getting harder to find every day. So don't let this opportunity slip away. Call today!!!
