DESCRIPTION
The previous owner of the big Ram installed a fifth-wheel attachment in the bed of the truck, this was used to haul their camper. The truck has plenty of power to haul. Any buyer can leave the fifth-wheel as it is or it can be easily removed to facilitate the use of the Rams big bed. The few repairs that were completed resolved any issues and the truck and its various systems now function as they should. A great looking truck that can be used for work, play or even as a restoration candidate, this red Ram is ready to go.
A perfect truck for the big country of North Dakota, our 1990 Dodge Ram has spent all of its life there. Our owner took the truck to settle a debt and has owned it for a half year. He has done some needed mechanical repairs and it now runs and performs as it should. An all original truck with a few aftermarket pieces, it has a strong motor, automatic transmission and 4 wheel drive capability. A perfect daily driver, it has only 104K miles on the clock. Our owner is only the 3rd for this beautiful red and silver Dodge Ram. With a powerful engine, great looks , 4 wheel drive capability and a fifth-wheel in the truck bed, this Dodge Ram is ready for its new owner.
The Red and Silver paint that covers the straight body panels of this truck is the original factory paint. The finish looks very good from just about any angle. Our owner has recently had it detailed and polished to bring out the great looking finish. Those great looking chrome wheels are aftermarket, they are wrapped with tires that are fair to good. A few aftermarket pieces have been installed to add to the looks and utility of the big Ram- a huge chrome aftermarket rear bumper, the external grill covering the radiator area , running boards and the big deflector up front. Any truck that has spent 30+ years in North Dakota can be expected to have a few bumps and scrapes and ours is no exception. The scrapes and bumps are small and one really has to look closely to see them. A fifth-wheel assembly was for hauling the previous owner's camper. It can be retained or removed to utilize the truck's bed space.
The interior story is short and simple...it's all original and in very good condition. With 104K miles on the clock, the seats, dash, and the door panels look fine. It's all red like it came from the factory. No cracks in the dash and all of the instruments and gauges work as they should. The truck has an automatic transmission that is shifted on the steering column and the 4-wheel drive mode is engaged with the lever on the floor. There is one issue to be aware of. The headliner seems to have become unglued and is sagging. However, it is not a difficult fix to repair. Everything works, even the cassette player. The AC blows cold after our owner had the system recharged and the gaskets changed. There are no leaks.
The legendary “indestructible” Dodge 318 cubic inch engine motivates the big red Ram. It supplies plenty of power for the truck. It has never been apart and runs a 2 barrel factory carb setup. The automatic transmission shifts the car smoothly in both 2 wheel and 4 wheel configurations. A few repairs have been done recently like the replacement of the steering rod and a check up of the overall steering system, which is working fine now. A complete 4 wheel brake job was done at 99K miles and the AC system was serviced and made operational. Valve cover gaskets have been replaced, a new distributor and coil were installed and the radiator was cleaned and checked. All systems are now working as they should. Once our owner took delivery of the truck, the tie rods, ball joints, shocks, springs and the rest of the suspension were thoroughly checked. Heavy duty shocks were installed and the rest of the suspension was deemed to be in good condition.
A thorough and complete evaluation of the truck was performed by an independent 3rd-party inspector. He encountered a truck that started and ran well, had plenty of power and shifted smoothly as it should. The steering was responsive, the suspension firm and the brakes stopped the truck very well. Our owner would like to correct the inspector’s report. He does not see any rust whatsoever on the underside of the truck, contrary to the report.
We offer a great truck with a hard-fought reputation for long life and getting lots of work done. The same truck can be used for camping, cruising or just to enjoy driving this beautiful red and silver Ram. With low miles as compared to its potential long life, the value in this 1990 Ram should be obvious to any truck buyer. We see it, and we think you will, too. Don’t be shy, bid often and early.
