DESCRIPTION

1930 Ford Model A Sport Coupe

For consignment, in classic style, a no fendered 1930 Ford Model A Landau Sport Coupe rodded to excellence. Old school through and through with an all Henry steel body, but with a Brookville frame, a hot engine under the open hood, and a beautiful stock appearing dark green paint job. I\'m behind the wheel and ready for the girl in the polka dot skirt to drop the handkerchief! This all is a view into the past of \"Hot Rodding\" with chrome suspension, upgraded steering, and modern brakes. The rest, I\'m keeping you in suspense! Read on!!

Exterior
All 1930 rust free Henry steel covers this classic bathed in wonderful dark green. Keeping true to Model A roots, we note a lighter green highlighting the lower body and rear wheel arch, body belt line, and window surrounds. Gaps are looking good, and it reminds me of the days of yore cruising Woodward Ave and smelling the mix of racing gas and burnt tires. A dark green corral around the chrome ribbed radiator fronts an open engine bay and is flanked by chrome bar mounted headlights between the tires. The front bumper has been removed giving the whole world a view of the chrome shocks and Super Bell front axle. It is all smooth and rust free and of course a swing out windshield leads the way up the tan Landau roof and on the back we note the rumble seat, a great place for insolent children or your mother in-law. Providing some contrast to the sea of green is an orange painted Brookville frame, exposed for the world to see and admire. 15-inch American Racing Torque Thrust wheels with polished lips and gray spokes in excellent condition are wrapped in good rubber and are showing off on all 4 corners. I\'m all shook up.

Interior
Opening the small simple doors, marbled saddle vinyl with simple stitching for an insert is covering the interior door shells. Shiny chrome for the window cranks and door releases are seen within these panels. This provides an excellent threshold for the cockpit, which sports a mabled saddle vinyl tuck and roll insert bench that stretches across the passenger compartment. Sitting proudly and rising towards the roof is a Lokar shifter which is seen within an ocean of sandy brown low pile carpeting, and creates a calm sea for the seat to float in. Upfront, a full metal dark green painted dash supports a lineup of aftermarket gauges within the central chrome \"mask\" with some light green pinstriping flanking on either side. Fronting this beautiful creation is an ivory leather wrapped banjo style steering wheel mounted atop a Flaming River adjustable column. The remainder of the cockpit is lined with more tancanvas and saddle vinyl, and a shout out to the rumble seat area with another overstuffed saddle vinyl bench with added seatbelts. You ain\'t nuthin but a hound dog!

Drivetrain
Exposed for inquisitive eyes to see is a circa 1969 350ci V8 engine topped with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and a Holley 4-barrel carburetor. This sits in against the set back firewall all this pushes power to the Chevrolet S10 10 bolt conventional rear axle through a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with adjustable lockup. Just a clean, polished, well-done presentation. A hunka, hunka burnin love.

Undercarriage
As perfect as the topside with dark green painted floor pans and rockers being supported by the earlier mentioned orange Brookville frame...solid as a rock. This provides the mounting points for the transverse leaf spring front suspension along with the Super Bell I-beam and split wishbone arms and in the rear, we see a triangulated 4 bar and coilover suspension. Disc brakes are on the front and drum brakes round out the rear. Shorty headers feed spent fossils through Spintech mufflers on their travel to the rear of the car.

Drive-Ability
Upon lighting the 8 candles the blinged out V8 settled into a throaty idle...as it should be! This car accelerated forever and handled very well. Bias free panic stopping and a comfortable driver all around in saddle and green heaven...

A classic rod looking like a classic hot rod, but with comforts of a nice interior, and classy wheels, and no dirt anywhere. Just the look is enough and with the power it has you will be more than satisfied to be tooling through your neighborhood, stirring up the dust and leaves on the suburban streets, shades of Woodward Ave, the arm dropping and going like hell! I can\'t help falling in love...It\'s now or never folks!
