DESCRIPTION

1958 Chevrolet Brookwood Station Wagon

For consignment, a Chevrolet Brookwood Station Wagon right out of 1958. This car has all the trappings of the late 50\'s design using a two tone paint job, wrap around windshield, side trim spears, a large front and rear bumper, and some sexy curved fins and rear tail light treatment. Pile in the kids and let\'s go!

Exterior
White with sky blue paint in tu-tone format make up the steel panels for the exterior which has nome nifty design cues. These start out front with an elongated oval egg crate grille that features dual turn signal and running lights in circular form and sporting large thick bezels all in chrome. A wide trim piece is rimming the top edge and on the bottom is the lower bumper. This bumper has some loss of shine and markings throughout. Just above are dual headlights on the edge of the front quarters and they are covered with a curved visor. A central Chevrolet V and cloisonn badge is in the center and thus begins the hood. It is bathed in white and runs back to the wrap-around windshield. Starting on the front quarters is a wonderfully wide dual rounded over two piece trim spear and if you dig that, you\'ll love its ending where the two strips of chrome come together and make one just at the edge of the rear doors and make their way rearward to the back end of the car. At this transition is the Brookwood chromed badge in grandmother\'s handwriting. This spear also is the delineation between the top white and bottom sky blue paint scheme. Also, on the rear doors begins what will become the rear fin edged in chrome and angled outward eventually making an S curve as it dives down to the rear bumper. Within this S are a single round tail light mounted in a wide chromed bezel. On the back, the white painted tailgate goes down, and above a tinted glass lift gate goes up for easy access to the cargo area. The bottom is framed with another wide bumper which is nicely preserved. The roof is sky blue and looking good and shiny. Overall the paint is nice but does show with some chip offs and on the lowers there are some bubbles in the blue. Slotted 16-inch rally style steel wheels are sky blue and have a knockoff central hubcap and a wide chromed trim ring on their edges. These wheels are wrapped in like new 215/60R16\'s in front and 235/65R16\'s on back and all in wide white form.

Interior
A swing of any door offers access to the looking like the original interior but certainly redone and done well in nice style. The sills are steel sky blue then white stitched vertical tuck and roll takes over and turns to smooth white vinyl where the cranks, actuator, and the armrest are housed. Below is a strip of blue carpeting. These panels show slight smudging throughout. In front is a large solid tuck and roll white vinyl bench which shows some aging especially on the hinge area of the drivers side as well as some smudging. Opening the second set of doors reveals another long bench in the same pattern and material and condition. Upfront is the factory looking dash in all metal jacket sky blue. It has a blue dash top with a curved topper for the speedometer, then just below begins a machined strip of chrome which curves from the doors to a satin finished mini square pattern panel below the speedo. Here other gauges and two pulls are located. As we move across the center, an aftermarket Kraco AM/FM/Cassette player is mounted in. Continuing across the shiny trim turns back to the swirl pattern with a glove box, clock, and another Brookwood badge in grandma\'s handwriting. Below is a curved outward steel blue painted panel within which are the climate sliders, ashtray, ignition and a few pulls on the driver\'s edge. Just below is a trio of aftermarket gauges and we see a Lokar shifter on the floor which is covered in blue carpeting showing slight fade and some light soiling. In back is more blue carpeting for the cargo area and a lift up panel provides storage. Above is a tight white headliner with padded panels.

Drivetrain
Under the hood in a nicely restored engine bay is now a snazzy looking 350ci V8. It has a pristine red painted block, chromed valve coverings and an open chromed round air cleaner covering. An Edelbrock intake is above the block and sitting on top of that is a 4-barrel carburetor. A new radiator is installed as well as a new master cylinder along withsupple hoses and like new wiring. The car is propelled forward and backward by a 3.36 rear axle coupled with a 200R4 4-speed automatic transmission. Headers and a like new exhaust are on.

Undercarriage
Looking recently painted in blackpaint I can still see some invasive rust mostly on the inner rocker areas, but it\'s spotty and does not run the length of the rockers. The X frame is solid and suspension is front independent coil springs as the rear is a 4 link with coil springs. Power disc brakes replace the original front brakes and now po
