DESCRIPTION
We love the era when the convertibles were big, fast, and brilliant. This 1961 Ford Galaxie Sunliner is an ideal mixture of style and performance with a bucket seat interior, upgraded four-wheel disc brakes, and a big 460 V8 under the hood. And it's all wrapped in a vintage drop-top body with awesomely slick paint.
The Monte Carlo Red has that kind of smooth and deep shine that looks like it's fresh from the paint booth. So you can really tell there has been a more recent investment in plenty of quality here. It loves to radiate in the sunshine, and that's what convertibles were made to do. These full-size Fords from the early 1960s because they were really out to show off their substantial style. We love that they placed the headlights so far out in the wide stance that they became part of the fender line. This gave the impression that everything was stretched to the max on this large Ford. This also allowed for some seriously large bright elements such as the wide chrome bumpers, the full-width grille, sweeping side trim, and intricate rear panel. Even upgrades like the American Racing Torq Thrust wheels and big dual exhaust tips are shining brightly. This makes for a full package that has the size and style to get noticed. And that's exactly what you want in a big block drop-top.
The black convertible top is another quality piece, and it look great against the shining red paint. But for true distinction, just flip a switch, and it powers down to reveal a sharp red interior. The dash has the look of pure classics style, and the seats have that terrific vintage trim. But take a closer look. You can see some solid but subtle investments. For example, the upholstery is a soft-style ultraleather, and the carpeting has the plus feeling of new. So not only do you have the space for family and friends, but also this one even knows how to make they feel comfy. But there's more to this Sunliner. Front bucket seats, a custom cup holder center console, and a B&M floor shifter are all true signs this is a driver's car.
Pop the hood and you'll see that callouts on the fenders were not lying. The 460 cubic-inch V8 fills the engine bay with big blue oval muscle. It has an awesome clean and mean total presentation with the smooth inner walls, polished air grabber, shining Milodon valve covers, new plug wires, and steel braided lines. So even the engine bay has the look of a proper investment. And they didn't just spend the money on making this one look great. It also fires up and runs with the strength you get in a properly prepared total package. As you look underneath, you see more of the clean style and fresher components that give you confidence to take this big block machine out on the road. Plus, with power steering, a rear sway bar, a three-speed automatic transmission, and upgraded four-wheel disc brakes, this big block bruiser is also a solid all-around cruiser.
Muscle, prestige, and sleek style all come together on this fresh and well-done Sunliner. So if you're looking for a powerful and attractive drop-top classic, call today!
