DESCRIPTION

This car is restored like jewelry, oh my gosh is it nice! Only 484 convertibles were made total. This is an extremely rare and desirable car. Chrysler built these cars for NASCAR racing; it was the fastest production car in 1957! These were not mass-produced cars, they were the best Chrysler had to offer and would easily hold their own among the best in the world!
This one is a body off frame, meticulously restored car. One of the nicest in existence.

EXTERIOR: The 1957 is considered the classic year of the 300 letter series. It was the first year offered in a convertible. Up front is the \"yawning grill\". In back are the tall tail fins which Chrysler referred to as stabilizers, they actually did increase stability! When I say the body is laser straight, I mean it. Literally every square inch is mint. There is zero rust, damage or body work showing. Everything fits precisely. Repainted rare and eye catching Parade Green metallic. It is laid out evenly and polished like a piece of glass. Even the jambs are painted as slick as the outside. Every single piece of chrome is restored to show quality. The grill is restored, even the window frames sparkle. The stainless was straightened and polished. The power antenna works. All of the glass was replaced. The weather strips and seals were replaced. Very rich black cloth power convertible top. Even the top framework was apart and restored. This one has the correct hubcaps in pristine shape with reproduction white wall tires. You may see others with wire wheels, those were actually not correct.

INTERIOR: This was among the finest interiors offered from the late 50s to the early 60s. It is restored to like new condition. Glove soft genuine leather upholstery. The door panels are pristine. The entire dash area is pristine. Restored dash pad, the metal was repainted, all the chrome sparkles. The knobs, lenses, vents, steering wheel are pristine. The clock is rebuilt and working. It has power seat and power windows. It has a remote controlled hidden CD changer tied into the original radio.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: #s matching 392 Hemi producing 375 hp and 420 lbs of torque! On top is the dual quad intake with dual 4 barrel carbs. It is highly detailed, every single component was taken apart, restored, and detailed beautifully. It even has a reproduction battery, Mopar washer fluid bag, correct hose clamps. Correct finishes: cadmium plating on the brake booster, raw fiberglass on the heater box, it even has the paint okay stamps duplicated. Under the hood is as smooth as on top!

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted as slick as the car. It has reproduction weather strip, decals and liner kit. The floor is carpeted, well liner was replaced. Restored spare with a 5th matching reproduction white wall. The jack assembly is complete and mounted properly. Trunk light works.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame, every component was rebuilt and restored to factory new condition. These cars featured twin parallel torsion bar front suspension which allowed them to lower the engine. The low center of gravity gave the car impressive handling. The wheels went from 15 to 14 inches to lower the car even more which meant the drum brakes were smaller and had to work harder. These cars have special air ducts below the headlights that cool the front brakes. All the suspension front and back is rebuilt, the steering has been completely rebuilt. It has a four muffler exhaust system. The fuel system was restored. The chassis was all prepped and painted a semi gloss black. The rust free floors are painted a satin black. Looking up at the motor it looks like new. The correct Torque flite automatic has been restored. The drive shaft is rebuilt and painted. The rear end was restored.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and replaced the oil pan gasket, cleaned, and adjusted front drum brakes. The speedometer works but isn\'t accurate.

This car has been referred to as a masterpiece with class and yet it\'s a performance beast! It\'s no wonder one sold in 2020 for $357,500. This is and always will be a substantial car, excellent investment potential.

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car\'s condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
