Screen Used in "Fast Five".
Built by Mongoose Motorsports, a GM licensed manufacturer. This Corvette Grand Sport is a NOT your typical movie car that was built quickly just to look good on screen. It is a quality built, professionally engineered performance vehicle. A total of only 5 Grand Sports were built in 1963, 2 convertibles and 3 coupes and are currently valued in the millions. Mongoose has perfected replicating the "Cobra Killer" down to every last detail. It features a full custom tubular chassis with C4 suspension, GM performance crate 350 with 380 HP and an automatic transmission. The only cosmetic difference is this car was given a set of 17" PS Engineering wheels for an updated look.
For the movie a total of 12 Grand Sports were supplied for various stunts and uses. Only 3 of the cars survived, this one being the nicest of the three. It was the green-screen car, which meant it was mounted on a special rig in front of a green-screen while the actors were filmed in it. It did not get used for any stunt work and remained as pristine as the day it was built. Besides not being abused, it is also the car that spent the most time with Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. After the filming was completed, and because the car was so nice, The transportation coordinator purchased the car for his own personal classic car collection. We purchased it directly from the transportation coordinator.
This is more than a movie car, Mongoose Motorsports is a licensed GM manufacture of the 1963 Grand Sport Corvette and offers them for sale to the public at a starting price of $85k with no engine or transmission. You can visit Mongoose Motorsports website to learn more about them https://mongoosemotorsports.com/grandsport/fast-5-movie-car/
