A sharp style and solid V8 power make this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 tribute quite an attractive coupe. So while you've got plenty of power underfoot, we imagine you're going to be driving pretty slow just so everyone can get a second glance.
When silver is done like it is here, it can't help but command attention. The luster lets the light roll evenly across the straight body panels to deliver a lasting admiration. When you have nice bright paint, only the best brightwork will do. After all, the chrome bumpers need to outshine the silver while still complimenting it. So you can tell there has been a good investment getting them to look mirror-like. There's a solid look right down to the fundamentals like the trim and glass. But more than just a quality coupe, you love this because it has the full performance appearance of a Z/28. It gets all the right aggressive pieces with the true cowl induction hood, chin splitter, correct badging, and full-width rear spoiler. And the dual black racing stripes are painted on top. The addition of competition style American Racing wheels has a period-correct style while also giving you a more modern and aggressive 17/18 inch front/rear stance.
We like it when the exterior stripes are a preview of what's inside, and let's face it, a Z-car deserves an all-black interior. It looks nice with the seats, dash, headliner, and carpeting that show there has been a solid investment throughout. In fact, everything from the wood-like trim to the clear gauges show a solid attention to detail. You even have provisions R-134a for air conditioning (it will need components and/or servicing to blow cold again.) And as a proper Z/28 tribute, this is set up to be a good driver's machine. That means front bucket seats with headrests, a center console-in between, the classic horseshoe shifter, and Chevy's three-spoke sports steering wheel.
Under the hood is a Chevy 307 cubic-inch V8 motor. It's quite close in displacement to the 302ci units that were in the 1969 Z/28s. And in fact, if you take off the decal on the air grabber, many people might think you have an original setup. After all, you have the correct ribbed valve covers and the gasket around the air filter seals the unit to the fresh air cowl hood. Plus, just like the Z/28, this V8 has been given some performance upgrades. It now inhales deeper with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock intake. It fires up nicely and makes a sweet tune out of the dual exhaust. Plus, the three-speed automatic transmission and power steering make for an easy driver. The power brakes with front discs and the modern sport tires afforded by the wheel upgrade give you added confidence out on the road.
