The Station Wagon, derived from the 1920’s with the advent of the “Depot Hackney”, became a practical mover of both people and products. Today, wagons still haul lotsa’ thing and many just haul a$$. They have become cherished and prized, customized and sized, and we surmise that they have yet to hit their high. And people just love them!

Our Owner of this classic carrier is a Chevy nut with a gasoline problem. He possesses multiple fun rides, and this is the third of three he is offering up from his personal Bowtie collection. He’s driven and enjoyed her over the past three years and notes that this beauty needs to have some refinement and attention. Knowing you are starting with an iconic Chevy platform; her potential is limitless.

Classy gray, while the paint is good, she needs attention in the pursuit of remediation. Rust is just starting to challenge aspects of the body, but with a little determination and elbow grease, she’ll come back and carry it all, including the day. Chrome and brightwork is there but needs fastening and a spit-polish. Her grill, that lovely design bringing Chevy into that emblematic era known as the 60’s, is just wonderous. Darkened tint on the window’s readily profiles the car and to finish with outrageous wheels is a must.

Draped in two-tone gray vinyl, work needs to be attended to, but the finish line is near. The stunning and well designed 1960 Chevy dash stands out in perfection. It does need detailing, and some gauges need to be addressed, but the bones are grand. Seats and door panels are in solid condition. The rear window, a wagon’s forte, operates perfect and the glass is perfect as well.

Dependable power is derived from a 305 cid V8 reported as stock and no-nonsense. Her engine bay is clean and straight, ready for modifications or to just be kept simple and manageable. A TH350 three-speed automatic and stock running gear complete the transfer of power. Suspension and components are all stock down to the manual drum brakes. Items do need attending to in her mechanicals, but as a project, it's really just refinement.

The thorough and detailed review of this classy hauler was conducted by the crew from Lemon Squad. Simply put, they found items that are indeed in need of consideration. Cosmetically, tackle the spots of rust and a re-squirt will bring her back to glory. Get your hands dirty underneath, tackle the few suspension needs and she’s rolling like the days of yore.

Whether you take her on as a project to perfect or just drive her as she classically sits, she’s a canvas awaiting an auto-artist. Her bones are solid and critical components all there. And each improvement brings her glory closer to perfection, almost like getting a new car after each completed task. Improvements will only bring her value up and station wagons are indeed on the way up in terms of demand.
