1952 Chevrolet 5 Window 3100 Pickup
The first major redesign for Chevrolet Pickups after WWII was the "Advance Design" series introduced in 1947. They remained in production through 1955 and were marketed as larger, stronger, and sleeker than previous designs. During their run the 5 window version was released for extra safety to eliminate blind spots and today that simple feature has become the more rare and desirable option. These might have started life as work trucks but in current times have become a go to for many collectors. This very nice 1952 3100 1/2 ton has gone through a frame off restoration turning into a very cool restomod pickup you can hop in and drive anywhere. The all steel rust free body is in excellent condition and painted in Hugger Orange. It is fitted with all new chrome bumpers, a new grill and new Black running boards. It has its original cowl vent behind the hood which is still operational. The glass is in good condition throughout including the 2 piece front windshield. The wood beds on these old trucks are always eye catching and this one is all redone with dark wood panels with stainless steel trim. The truck rides on nice 15 inch 5 bolt Black wheels with Chevrolet center caps and trim rings. The tires are in good shape and are BF Goodrich Radials.
Under the hood the truck is clean with a painted to match firewall. It is now powered by a very reliable 350 V8 that has been fully rebuilt. It has a new Edelbrock intake, Carter 4 barrel carburetor, Accel distributor, all new wiring, chrome Edelbrock air cleaner, and chrome valve covers. It has a great sound delivered through the stainless steel dual exhaust system. Paired with the motor is a smooth shifting Turbo 350 Automatic and a 10 bolt rear end. Underneath the floors and frame are all solid. It has been upgraded with a new bolt in front cross member, new Monroe shocks, new Mustang II front suspension, new Rack & Pinion steering, new master cylinder, new front disc brakes, new e-brake and all new brake lines. The truck has a huge list of new components and upgrades turning it into a very reliable driver. Not all of these old classics are both great drivers and good show cars but this thing checks both of those boxes.
The interior features its stock bench seat with new Gray/Black cloth upholstery. It has its original steel dash which was repainted to match and wears its original chrome trim. It also has its original radio system and stock gauges. A second gauge pod was added under the dash for Temp, Amp, and Oil gauges and it has an aftermarket tachometer mounted to the center of the dash. In front of the driver sits a new Ididit tilt column painted in Black and topped off with a new Grant steering wheel. The carpeting is all in good condition and to the floor is mounted a Lokar shifter. The wipers, heater and everything on this truck work properly.
Looking over this 5 Window you can tell a ton of effort went into the build and only quality parts were use throughout. It performs well on the road so when you hop behind the wheel you can be confident in the drive ahead.
With all the work that has been done to it this truck is a steal for only $28,750.00!
