DESCRIPTION

1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst/Olds 15th Anniversary 2 Door Hardtop

For consignment, a 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst/Olds 15th Anniversary 2 door hardtop with a title verified 44,291 actual miles. This numbers matching example has been owned by our consignor since 1991 and garage kept ever since.

Exterior
The car retains its unique Hurst Olds livery with Ebony Black paint over Silver Metallic separated by a band of red bordered by silver that follows the curve of the wheel openings and continues on the bumpers to completely circumnavigate that car running parallel to a matching pinstripe higher up. There\'s a power bulge on the hood and a wing on the rear decklid to help demarcate the special nature of this limited edition. This is a solid roof car with fixed rear quarter windows, a G-body trait, and 15-inch Oldsmobile Super Stock II wheels carry even sized tires for a square stance and letters out sportiness. Reverse lights are embedded in a clear lens bar and reflector that stretches from vertical brake light to vertical brake light, a great design in the back where you\'ll also find the shadow graphics of the Hurst/Olds designation. Imperfections are few and include minor scuffs, chips, oxidation of rear window reveal, and a repair to the chin spoiler.

Interior
Standard GM G-body door panels here with door pulls, plastic armrests, and various controls including window cranks and both doors present nicely, setting the palette of Medium Antelope beige. This motif continues on the tall velour front bucket seats and rear bench, all showing in good condition. Oldsmobile provides leather wrap at the 3 and 9 position of the steering wheel and the plastic rim shows a small crack at the bottom. The gauge cluster does not veer far from the more pedestrian Cutlass but does include round gauges for a sportier feel while burl woodgrain trim keeps things teetering on the luxury side of things. Burlwood applique also adorns the dash center which houses a clock and metal anniversary plaque. The G-body center square is where you\'ll always find the A/C panel and AM/FM/Cassette radio. Then, magic happens when you feast your eyes on the Hurst Lightning Rod shifters, three separate controls rising like a bouquet of high performance flowers and the absolute star of the show! The beige plastic and wood continue and look great over deep pile carpet and H/O branded mats. In the trunk, a black cloth mat lines the floor and the space saver spare is still in place.

Drivetrain
Here we find the numbers matching 307ci HO V8, rated at 180 horsepower and fueled via a 4-barrel carburetor. It\'s mated to the numbers matching 200R4 4-speed automatic transmission routing power to GM\'s ubiquitous 10 bolt rear axle with 3.73 gears.

Undercarriage
Clean conditions with some normal patina and the fresh looking dual exhaust travels through stock style mufflers, over the rear axle and exit without fanfare behind the rear wheels. Power disc brakes and coil spring suspension is up front, power drums and a 4 link and coil springs are in back.

Drive-Ability
Good looking and comfortable, this Cutlass starts, runs, and rolls very nicely over our test loop, providing a soft ride and we\'ll let the transmission shift itself this time. We note the A/C and power antenna are not working but all other functions operate as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

It\'s not just an epic party trick between the seats, it\'s a fairly rare sporty Cutlass in the now legendary G-body platform with a fantastic paint scheme and graphics that make it instantly recognizable and a standout wherever it goes. This is a very nice example of a noteworthy partnership. The only thing missing is a Linda Vaughn signature on the visor!
