DESCRIPTION

INTRODUCTION: A California SCCA race car back in the day, this one was born in San Jose and spent the first 55 years of its life on the West Coast. It\'s claimed to still retain its original metal. Recently restored and thoughtfully upgraded, the build stays true to its vintage racing heritage while adding modern performance. It\'s now powered by a crate 460 engine backed by a 5-speed transmission and posi rear end. Coilover suspension and Wilwood brakes bring the handling and stopping power up to today\'s standards. Despite its performance edge, it has surprisingly mild manners, making it a great cruiser too-especially with the added comfort of power steering and air conditioning. This one is ready to rock and roll whenever you are.

EXTERIOR: Keeping with the vintage race theme, it features a Shelby-style front valance and grille with an integrated spoiler. The body is arrow-straight with square, gaps throughout. The hood is equipped with a functional scoop, and a rear spoiler is mounted on the trunk to complete the aggressive look. It\'s an original Rangoon Red car, and the paint on it today is polished to a mirror-like reflection. It\'s accented with black over-the-top racing stripes, a Shelby gas cap, hood pins, and classic bullet-style mirrors. The chrome and trim have a soft brushed aluminum appearance that complements the overall theme nicely. The windshield and weatherstrips have been replaced. The car was born in California, spending the first 55 years of its life out west. It\'s claimed to retain 100% of its original metal. It\'s sitting on 17-inch Torque Thrust wheels wrapped in performance tires, giving it the perfect vintage performance stance.

INTERIOR: The interior has been completely gutted and lined with sound deadener, then finished with fresh carpet and Shelby mats. Corbeau seats with racing harnesses hold you firmly in place as you carve through the roads, while a 4-point roll bar adds both safety and rigidity. Your hands command the car through a walnut steering wheel mounted on a tilt column, paired with a 5-speed shifter. The dash features Ultra-Lite gauges along with a custom switch panel and push-button start for a race-inspired feel. It\'s also equipped with air conditioning to keep you cool when your heart\'s racing behind the wheel. The door panels, armrests, rear seat upholstery, and dash pad are all quality reproductions, maintaining a clean, factory-style appearance. The white headliner is a very nice original, and a Carroll Shelby signature on the glove box adds a special finishing touch.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: At the heart of this build is a Ford Motorsports crate BOSS 351 short block with 4-bolt mains, bored and stroked to 460 cubic inches. It\'s loaded with fully forged internals including a Scat crank and rods, along with a roller cam. Up top, it features AFR aluminum heads, an Edelbrock intake, and a Quick Fuel 850 carb, all managed by an MSD ignition system. The result-an impressive 569 horsepower to the rear wheels. Coated long-tube headers help it breathe, and it runs comfortably on 93 octane while staying under 180 degrees. Cooling is handled by a Ron Davis system including an aluminum radiator, polished overflow, electric fans, and an aluminum water pump. The front of the engine is equipped with a clean serpentine belt system, and the bay retains clean original metal with a custom tubular support bar. Additional details include a catch can breather and Aeromotive fuel lines and fittings throughout. And it\'s not just about raw power-it\'s also equipped with power steering along with a Classic Auto Air system providing both air conditioning and heat for real driving comfort.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside, it\'s all completely rust-free original metal-clean and solid. It features a custom fuel cell with braided lines, along with a securely mounted battery equipped with a master disconnect switch for added safety and convenience.

UNDERSIDE: Up front, it features a Mustang IIstyle independent suspension with tubular control arms, a custom sway bar, and QA1 adjustable coilover gas shocks. Steering is handled by a Detroit Speed rack-and-pinion system for precise, modern feel. The chassis has been reinforced with TCI frame connectors and tubular center supports, giving the car excellent rigidity. Out back, it\'s equipped with a Rod & Custom 4-link suspension with tubular control arms, a sway bar, and QA1 adjustable coilover shocks. The fuel system is fully upgraded with a custom tank, electric fuel pump, and braided fuel lines. A custom exhaust system with X-pipe, Flowmaster mufflers, and titanium tips exits on each side. Stopping power comes from a Wilwood system with disc brakes at all four wheels. Looking up at the motor it features a 7-quart Canton oil pan and a high torque starter. A Tremec TKX 5-speed manual transmission with a McLeod hydraulic clutch and American Powertrain shift linkage sends power to
