1949 Mercury Sedan

1949 Mercury 4 door sedan. All original, complete. Runs drives and stops but not a driver. It''s been a few decades since this car has been on the road.

Appears to be the original paint. No evidence of any accidents or body work every done. Solid car. See pics for flaws. Nice natural patina.

Interior appears to be original except the new carpet kit. Seats look amazing and in great condition. Headliner is intact but fragile and old. Door panels show plenty of wear.

Mechanical it runs and drives, but I have only driven it on my property. Original flathead and Three on the tree stick tranny. Should be number matching.
In the last year the following has been done;new spark plugs, points cap rotor, both water pumps, rebuilt carb, fuel pump and hoses. On the brakes new master cylinder and all three rubber brake lines. The brake pedal is firm and seems to work good, but I did not check the shoes or wheel cylinders. The clutch disk is new and the pressure plate was rebuilt. So starts up well, has a nice low idle. Shifts in and out of gears ok. Will need a little more attention before it''s truly road worthy.

Nice original exterior Futon sun visor. Original metal fender skirts. These are rare and expensive options.
