One of the nice things about these third generation Chevy pickups, is that they are great looking trucks to start with, and that makes them very popular for customizing. One of the challenges that brings, is to create something a little bit different in the process. This truck achieves that by letting the clean lines of the body speak for themselves and makes its dramatic statement with some seriously large chrome wheels. Check it out.
Like a clear blue sky, the beauty of the Blue paint job on this truck is in what's not there. No stripes or badges mess up the clean look. The paint shines nicely and reflects lights back along the long straight lines of the body whether it is sitting still in a parking lot or driving down the boulevard on a Friday night. Up front a custom chrome grill keeps the look clean with horizontal bars underlined by a simple chrome bumper. The hood looks proud and strong with accent lines down the center and sides before flowing over onto the front fenders. The fenders both front and rear have muscular shoulders that flare out, stretching to cover those wide wheels and tires. Side mirrors, door handles and door drip guards are polished up nicely adding a little splash of flash, while out back the tailgate is simple in blue with Chevrolet embossed into it and a body colored panel blending in nicely below it.
Open the door and you will find a neat and clean Black interior with White and Silver highlights that is a great compliment to the Blue of the body. The molded door panel has a nice armrest with power window and lock switches at your fingertips and a handy door pocket. The bench seat is roomy and comfortable in pleated vinyl with a white panel in the center. A beefy four-spoke GT steering wheel feels good in your hands and has a billet shifter for the automatic transmission mounted on the column. Behind it is a dash with an aftermarket gauge cluster and a JVC head unit is mounted in the center and powered by an amp mounted behind the seat along with a subwoofer for your listening pleasure. There are aluminum gas and brake pedals and the carpeting is protected by black floor mats with Chevrolet bowties embroidered into them in blue.
Pop the hood and you will find a modern 5.3-liter Vortec V8 nestled down in the neat and clean engine bay. A Spectre cold air intake system starts with a blue air filter that looks like it was made special to match this truck. It feeds that air to a stock engine that was sourced from a late model Silverado along with the transmission, so everything works together nicely. There is a Vortec dress up kit covering the intake and a serpentine belt system drives the accessories. Signs of good regular maintenance include newer belts and hoses as well as well as a fresh battery. Power flows back through that 4-speed automatic to a 12-bolt rear end mounted on leaf springs. Up front control arms and coil springs get the job done while power front disc brakes provide good stopping power. The rubber meets the road through 255/30/24-inch tires mounted on those massive chrome DUB alloy wheels.
Dramatic looking with those DUB wheels and super clean looking body. Late model power under the hood and even more power driving the speakers. Come on down and check this truck out.
