Original from the motor to the hubcaps, our black beauty is highly optioned and emanates personal luxury. Correct color, clean and pristine condition and a style that set a standard.
The first year of four: four headlights and four seats converting a sports car into a sporty coupe, thus creating the first American Personal luxury car. We find her in a most desired color, black, with grand options like power windows, two-tone upholstery, and an automatic transmission. You’ll find her at local events in Three Rivers, Michigan and she indeed has a clean and clear title in our Owner’s name.
Black exterior paint has a high probability of being factory original and shows very nice. No rust beyond slight surface oxidation was discovered or reported. Her chrome is just delightfully, nostalgic and in very good condition. All glass is reported as excellent. And one finishes with era-nice white walled tires and those wonderful factory hubcaps. She is simply a beautiful car.
In keeping with her ultra-original condition, we find her with what is reported as factory original, two-tone black and white upholstery. Door panels and rears show very nice and the seat were reported to have just a bit of wear. Factory dash has original, fully operational gauges. T-birds have wonderful brightwork on the interior and our fine riparian shows pristine, plus that center column sets the stage for personal luxury. Note that no alterations for stereo, etc., have been performed at the interior. Stock, original and just in grand condition.
Not much is known about the 352 cid V8 powerplant other than she performs extremely nice. Backing the bodacious V8 is Ford’s Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, shifted at the column. All remaining running gear is genuine Ford and is reported to perform wonderfully.
The mechanical and cosmetic evaluation of this ‘Bird was performed by the crew from Lemon Squad. Overall, she was found to be in superb, original condition. No cancer was discovered or noted during this very thorough examination. Noted was surface oxidation at the underside of the hood. To note, an upper engine oil leak is suspected. During her test drive on the road, her performance was exceptional and no challenges were noted.
What we have here is a superbly original, significant in style and a trend-setting automobile. Like the Thunderbirds from generation one, our second gen ’58 set sales records and started styling trends copied by the other American auto manufacturers. Our beautiful black ‘Bird really does have it all. Options from power windows, seat and brakes to automatic transmission and an interior that starts with two-tone styling completed by aggressive center console and bucket seats. Second generation Thunderbirds piloted ahead of the competition and for years to come elevated above the other personal luxury automobiles. Some might say they soared….
